Course Description: The Apply First Aid course is the Australian standard for the workplace first aider. The course is exciting, energetic and well paced, you will learn everything you need to save a life before the paramedics arrive. We are not the boring old First Aid Company; we teach with passion and enjoy giving you these essential life skills.You will learn from the trainer, with the latest footage of rescues, props, demonstrations, videos and group activities. The flexible learning Apply First Aid course is designed to allow participants to complete a workbook and do 1 day face to face training, this means you can do the AFA course in 1 day and walk away with your certificate! Course Content: Legality's of First Aid Chain of survival Basic Life support chart CPR Use of a defibrillator Trauma and shock Fractures Dislocations and soft tissue injuries Head and spinal injuries All posible childrens First Aid Poisons Anaphylaxis Training/ administration of Anna & Epi-pen Burns Environmental conditions Bites and Stings Entry Requirements: Participants must be 14 years or older Course Duration: 8 hours face to face and a Work book Assessment: Progressive assessment of the competencies will be conducted throughout the course. You will participate in both theory and practical sessions, which will be followed by a skills assessment and multiple choice theory tests. Award: On successful completion of the course and workbook, the participant will receive a statement of attainment which will be valid for 3 years as per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Recertification: Apply First Aid is renewed every 3 years and the CPR component is renewed every 12 months as per Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Apply First Aid Refresher Course available (formally known as Senior First Aid Refresher) Incorporating Apply first aid (HLTFA301C) Perform CPR (HLTCPR201B) All course information is the same as the Apply First Aid Course however the workbook is not required if the certificate is kept current by renewing every 3 years.}
