Exclusion provisions were implemented on 1 May 2005 under the Gambling Legislation Amendment Act 2004. As a consequence this means that the gambling venues must be aware of the requirements and the impact on the gambling industry. Venues are required to appoint a CLO and that person must be suitably trained in exclusion provisions.
The Customer Liaison Officer (CLO) course covers both legislative and code of practice requirements. Information is presented in a logical process designed to enable gaming venues to provide necessary support to those who are at risk from excessive gambling. It also covers self exclusions and venue initiated exclusions.
